Study shows 81 percent of SMBs use social media
The numbers say it all: According to a recent survey from Constant Contact, a whopping 81 percent of small businesses report using social media outlets for marketing purposes. This is up 8 percent in only six months!
Even more impressive: 61 percent of small businesses using social media for marketing are saying it has been worth it. And 86 percent say Facebook has been effective, 60 percent for Twitter, and 55 percent for LinkedIn. Each percentage has risen between 6-14 percent in a short six months.
Most used social channels: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Google Plus. In addition to these sites, Constant Contact noted that 51 percent of small businesses are including blogging in their social media efforts.
The barriers are breaking down: There have been many excuses to not use social media for marketing purposes. In the graph above, you can see that ease, low cost, and customer adoption are all up! Your prospective customers are out there waiting for social media contact, and now is the time to reach out and get social.
